Hadi N. Skouri, MD, FESC, FACC, FHFA, FHFSA
Dr. Skouri is Professor of Clinical Medicine-Cardiology at Balamand University School of Medicine. He is currently a consultant of Advanced heart failure and Cardio-oncology at Sheikh Shakbout Medical City, Abu Dhabi-UAE. He is serving as the Director of the Heart Failure service and initiated the first UAE cardio-oncology service. Before joining SSMC-Abu Dhabi, he was serving as the Director of the Cardiac Care Unit, director of Samir Alam Heart Failure Unit and the Heart Failure Program at AUBMC, Beirut-Lebanon. Currently he is the chairman of the heart failure working group at the Lebanese Society of Cardiology (LSC) and the president of the UAE chapter of the International Society of Cardio Oncology.
He served as a board member of the Heart Failure Association of the European Society of Cardiology
2022-2024. He has served and serving as a member of several HFA committees including membership,
education, advanced heart failure, acute heart failure, heart failure matters, national heart failure societies, and cardiomyopathy committees as well as cardio-renal, cardio oncology and amyloidosis study groups. He has spent almost two decades building his knowledge in heart disease treatment and care.

Dr. Skouri notably completed a two-year fellowship in heart failure and transplantation at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota and Cleveland Clinic Foundation, Cleveland Ohio.

In Beirut, Dr. Skouri has led the development of the Advanced Heart Failure program at AUBMC. He led the first Left Ventricular Assist device (LVAD) in Lebanon and the Arab region in 2009.
He also had led the Arabic translation of the website “heartfaiurematters.org”, the largest HF educational website. He chaired the Lebanese Society of Cardiology’s Heart Failure Working Group from 2009 to 2015. From 2015 to 2017 he served as a member of the LSC executive board and 2017-2025 as chair of the working group.
In 2013, he became the first Fellow of the Heart Failure Association in the Middle East region. He has led several National activities including the first Middle East Heart Failure Congress (May 2012) which is being held every two years and initiated the Lebanese Heart Failure Awareness campaigns in collaboration with the European Society of Cardiology since 2010 and awarded from HFA-ESC 6 times for best HF awareness campaign.
Moreover, he is an active member of the Gulf/Middle East Heart Failure Academy. He is participating as a speaker in major national, regional, and international HF and Cardiology congresses.
Dr. Skouri has written more than 81 peer-reviewed manuscripts as a major contributor as well as multiple abstracts and co-authored several consensus documents and position statements from the Heart Failure Association. He is also active in research and served as a national investigator/coordinator for several multinational research projects.
