Nadya Al Matrooshi , MD, MSc

Dr. Nadya Al Matrooshi is a Consultant Cardiologist and the Medical Director of the Heart Transplant Program. She is among the first Emirati women to lead a national heart transplant initiative, helping establish the UAE as a regional center of excellence for advanced heart failure and transplantation.

She completed her specialized training in heart transplantation and mechanical circulatory support at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute, Canada and other leading international institutions, working alongside global experts in the field.

Dr. Al Matrooshi has been instrumental in developing the country’s heart transplant program, aligning with health authorities, organ procurement organizations, and international registries such as ISHLT. She is also an active researcher, with contributions in transplant outcomes, ischemic time optimization, and the use of artificial intelligence and cell-free DNA diagnostics in transplantation.
