Feras Bader, MD, MS, MBA (Oxford)

Prof. Feras Bader is a Clinical Professor of Medicine and Cardiology at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University. He is the Founder and Chairman of the Middle East Heart Academy.

After finishing his Internal Medicine Residency training, Prof. Bader completed Heart Failure and Transplant Fellowship at Yale University School of Medicine in 2003. He then went to the University of Utah and completed his Cardiovascular Fellowship in 2006, after which he joined the faculty there at the Division of Cardiology. He served as the Medical Director of the Heart Failure Program at the University of Utah Hospital and the Director of the Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Fellowship Program. During his time there, he also obtained a Master’s Degree in Clinical Investigation.

Prof. Bader spent a decade at Cleveland Clinic in Abu Dhabi between 2015 and 2025, during which he established the first multidisciplinary advanced heart failure and transplant program in UAE including the introduction of heart transplant for the first time there. During his tenure at Cleveland Clinic, he served as the Vice Chairman and then the Chairman of the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine.

In 2024, Prof. Bader completed an Executive Master of Business Administration from Oxford University.

Prof. Bader is American Board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Diseases, Echocardiography, and Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology. His research interests include various aspects in ventricular assist devices, hemodynamics and cardio-renal interactions in heart failure. He has participated in many single and multi-center trials and has published more than 175 papers and abstracts in peer review journals. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, the Heart Failure Society of America, and the European Heart Failure Association. He is the Regional Chairman of the International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation Foundation on behalf of the Middle East.
